If I ain't got you - Alicia Keys

Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power, yeah
Some people live just to play the game
Some people think that the physical things
Define what's within
And I've been there before
But that life's a bore
So full of the superficial

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If I ain't you baby
If I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, yeah

Some people search for a fountain
That promises forever young
Some people need three dozen roses
And that's the only way to prove you love them
Hand me the world on a silver platter
And what good would it be
With no one to share
With no one who truely cares for me

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you baby
If I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, you, you

Some people want it all
But I don't want nothing at all
If it ain't you baby
If I ain't got you baby
Some people want diamond rings
Some just want everything
But everything means nothing
If I ain't got you, yeah

If I ain't got you with me baby
So notihng in this whole wide world don't mean a thing
If I ain't got you with me baby

Thank you for the music - ABBA

Thank you for the music

I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore.
If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before
But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
'Cause everyone listens when I start to sing
I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk
She says I began to sing long before I could talk
And I've often wondered, how did it all start?
Who found out that nothing can capture a heart
Like a melody can?
Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair
I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thank you all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

One of the greatest bands I've ever known.
Though their songs are old pops, they always appeal me from the heart.

A Whole New World - Aladdin

I can show you the world
Shinining, Shimmering splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear

That now I'm in a whole
New world with you
Now I'm in a whole
New world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath, it gets better

I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back
To where I used to be

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter

I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole
New world with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me

...
Best Disney song ever!

C'mon Through - Lasse Lindh

In east Asia, we have rain seaon every year in June for one month. The summer in Korea is humid and hot so people are easy to be tired and vexed. If I attend the University, I would be stressed out as well. Fortunately, I spend most of time staying in my room thesedays after the exchange period and just preparing for the exam for a graduate school. It is not bad for me to listen to the music in the room in a rainy day like today. I like quiet and soft music in this weather rather than pop music with fast beat. And, here is the music I listened to all the day - C'mon Through.

It was the summer three years ago when I first listened to this song. There was a Korean TV drama named 'Soul Mate.' It was quite popular in Korea not only because of the story but because of OST of the drama. It had so many good songs in each episode. C'mon Through was the song I liked most. I didn't watch the full episodes, but I liked the name of the drama, 'Soul Mate.' The drama starts from the question, "Is there my soul mate on the earth?" I hadn't thought about that before I watched the drama. In the drama, a man just chances to meet a woman who is crying on the road, and he feels that they have known each other since a long time ago like desavue. In next episodes, they experience surprising moments like they share the same feeling and what another person is thinking. Since it is a drama, the two people have a trouble with each boyfriend/girlfriend even though they know that they are soul mates that they have looked for.

I just wonder how many people have ever met their soul mates. The world is so wide, and people are too many to find a soul mate. The soul mate might not be my age or in my country. He/She might be the person that I have never met so far, or the person who just passed by me. Maybe the only way to find a soul mate might be just to keep looking. I would be so sad if I cannot find any person who can understand me oneday when I look back on myself.

Confession - Delispice

This song is one of the OST (original sound track) of Korean movie, 'Classic' (2003).
Delispice started as an indi rock band, but now they are pretty famous in Korea. The movie, Classic, is about two love stories, a female protagonist and her mother. The movie is just so classical love story like the name of the movie. But, the main characters are all super famous in Korea, so I think it would be not bad to watch it if you can. The main female character played two roles, her mother and herself. That is why she is sometimes wearing traditional school uniform but sometimes not. I just wanna let you know just in case you are wondering about the music video story. Delispice's other songs are also good, especially I like Chau Chau [차우차우]; I like that kind of repetition. You could check it out on the Youtube.

Christina Aguilera

I feel guilty that I have not made a post for a while though it was because of my finals. But, I really wanted to make a post during final weeks, so I made some lists that I wanna post on my blog when I have some time. I'd like to talk a little bit about Christina Auilera. Her name just always makes me feel hard to pronounce. 10 days ago, I just chanced to her music video 'Ain't No Other Man' and just surprised that she still keeps her own talents. She was really famous in Korea since 10 years ago not as much as Britney Spears, but pretty famous among young people. But, I always took sides with her than Britney because I was a fan of 'Reflection' that she sang for the disney movie 'Mulan' at that time (When I was 12 years old or something).
Yeah, I still like that song.

In this music video, she looks older than now, but at the same time something looks younger than now. I don't know. Maybe her style in this video is just quite different from her present style. Even though some people might say she just pretends to be too sexy than she is, I think at least she is making an effort to establish her own style. Being sexy is not all the same. I don't think she is very sexy, but I like her trying to be sexy style. (I think she is cute sexy than wild sexy) And, others also might say that she is so commercialized; her music is just easy to sing or remember. But, how many singers are trying to be famous by using that strategy? And, How many of them can be survived in the competitive entertainment world. I think she is amazing for that reason because she has been keeping the top singer place for almost one decade. Which means she is a talented entertainer who can attract people's eyes and ears.

This music video of 'Candyman' just shows that how talented she is. I also like her songs with powerful voice. Sometimes her voice makes the sound which only black singers can sound. I think that is surprising; I haven't heard that a white singer sounds like that kind of voice as she does.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpBLGTBmTJg

I think she could become a long-existent pop star like Madonna. It would be awesome to see her changes and improvement or hopefully-not downfall during my entire life. Lastly, here is her recent music video, that I mentioned before "Ain't No Other Man."

PS. I don't know why the U-Tube doesn't provide sources anymore anyway. So, I have no choice but to just leave the web address...

Warwick Avenue - Duffy

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Meet me by the entrance of the tube
We can talk things over little time
But promise me you won't stand by the light

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Please draw the past and be true
Don't say we're okay
Just because I'm here
You hurt me bad but I won't shed a tear

I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving,
But you don't love me
And I've been confused
Outta my mind lately
You think you're loving,
But I watn to be free, baby
You've hurt me

When I get to Warwick Avenue
We'll spend an hour but no more than two
Our only chance to speak once more
I showed you answers, now here's the door

When I get to Warwick Avenue
I'll tell baby there we're through

Cause I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving,
But you don't love me
And I've been confused
An outta my mind lately
You think you're loving,
But you don;t love me
I want to be free, baby
You've hurt me

All the days spent together
I wish for better,
And I didn't want the train to come
Now it's departed, I'm broken hearted
Seems like we never started
All those days spent together
When I wished for better
And I didn't want the train to come.
No, no.

You think you're loving
But you don't love me
I want to be free, baby
You've hurt me
You don't love me
I want to be free
Baby you've hurt me

Thinking of You - Katy Perry

Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one, I still got the seed
You said move on, where do I go?
I guess second best is all I will know

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
Oh, I wish that I was looking into your eyes

You're like an Indian summer in the middle of winter
Like a hard candy with a surprise center
How do I get better once I've had the best?
You said there's tons of fish in the water, so the waters I will test

He kissed my lips, I taste your mouth, Oh
He pulled me in, I was disgusted with myself

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
Oh, I wish that I was looking into

You're the best, and yes, I do regret
How I could let myself let you go
Now, now the lesson's learned
I touched it, I was burned
Oh, I think you should know

'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
Oh, I wish that I was looking into your, your eyes
Looking into your eyes, looking into your eyes

Oh, won't you walk through?
And bust in the door and take me away?
Oh, no more mistakes
'Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay, stay

Those Sweet Words - Norah Jones

What did you say
I know I saw you singing
My ears won't stop ringing
Long enough to hear
Those sweet words
What did you say

End of the day
The hour hand has spun
Before the night is done
I just have to hear
Those sweet words
Spoken like a melody

All your love
Is a lost balloon
Raising up through the afternoon
'Til it could fit on the head of a pin

Come on in
Did you have a hard time sleeping
'Cause a heavy moon was keeping me awake
And all I know is I'm just glad to see you again

See my love
Like a lost balloon
Raising up through the afternoon
And then you appear

What did you say
I know you were singing
My ears won't stop ringing
Long enough to hear
Thoses sweet words
And your simple melody

I just have to hear
Your sweet words
Spoken like a melody
I just wanna hear
Thoses sweet words

Sweet night ♥

Plane White Ts - Hey There Delilah

The spring break is over.
I had wonderful time in NY, and now I miss NY so bad.
It is like I left a part of myself in there.
I guess if someone thinks and longs for somewhere so much, a part of the person still stays around in the place though physically left the place.

Mariah Carey

Oh my god, I cannot stop listening to her music and it is already 4:25am.
It's sooooooo good!
After all is said and done, a great song never dies.
I've heard her song first since I was an elementary student. And it is still amazing.
It will be great if I could go her concert someday.
She just makes me stay in my dream.
It is so nice that I could listen to her song in this silent night.

Bill Evans - Waltz For Debby

This song is just good for friday morning.
Bill Evans is a famous white Jazz pianist. The reason why I put 'white' is because many jazz musicians are black people and the jazz style of Evans is distinguished with other jazz songs. Like the name of this song, this song is more like waltz than Jazz. And his attire and attitude also looks a fine gentleman than being footloose and fancy free like other jazz musicians. Of course I love quick and strong rhythm too but sometimes I want to enjoy this kind of gentle and light jazz.

L.O.V.E. - Nat King Cole

I chanced on the song always makes me happy in the cafe today.

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very very extraordinary
E is even more anyone that you adore can love

It's all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart but pease don't break it
Love was made for me and you

Bloc Party - Sunday

Here is a song I listen to again and again these days.
Sunday - Bloc Party. Actually, I hadn't known this British group until my friend asked me to go their concert. So I just took a shot at listening to their music. They were pretty good for me and decided to go their concert. Now, I am looking forward to seeing them in person!

Mika - Grace Kelly

I could be brown, I could be blue
I could be violet sky
I could be hurtful, I could be purple
I could be anything you like
...
Why don't you like me?

雪の華 or 눈의 꽃

눈의 꽃 which means snow flower.
This is the famous song during winter in Korea.
As far as I know, the original song is Japanese song and Korean singer, Hyoshin Park, remade this song. It was sung by Japanese female singer, so it would be good to listen diffrent version of this song. I think Asian songs are more emotional and focused on storyline than western songs. I don't know why but I wanna listen to Korean songs these days. Maybe I'm becoming more emotional now..
Here is Korean singer version of 'Snow flower'
박효신 - 눈의 꽃

And this is Japanese version of 'Snow flower'.
Mika Nakashima - 雪の華
